What Is Composite Floor Decking?

Composite floor decking is a metal deck for concrete that has embossments in the interior flutes of the metal decking. When concrete slab cures, the steel deck and the concrete bond together. This process strengthens the floor without adding additional weight.

B-36 Formlok™ 1.5" Deep

Verco B-36 Formlok® is a button punch side lap style of B metal deck for concrete. It's a short to medium span composite metal decking panel that's designed to have concrete poured on top of it.

W2-36 Formlok™ 2" Deep

Verco W2-36 Formlok® will span further and carry a greater load when compared to B-36 Formlok. It's a medium to long span composite steel floor deck.

W3-36 Formlok™ 3" Deep

Verco W3-36 Formlok® is a stronger panel when compared to 1.5" or 2" composite metal floor deck. It's a long span metal floor decking. It will cost less vs N-24 or N3-32 Formlok.

Verco® N-24 Formlok™ is not specified often because it's only available in large quantities and it's expensive. W3-36 Formlok can be substituted in most instances with an engineers approval.

What is Form Decking?

Steel form decking is a corrugated metal that supports the wet concrete. It will not increase the strength of the floor and is not a composite floor decking. Unlike a wood form, a steel form deck doesn’t have to be removed when the concrete slab has cured.

This is a steel form decking for concrete and it should not be used as a composite steel floor deck system. Deep Vercor steel form decking is stronger than Shallow Vercor.
